Flourish TAM

INSPIRATION
Inspired by Beatrix Potter’s work, I designed this hat to make a nod to Peter Rabbit’s adorable tam. Originally designed for Beatrix Box Series, and curated by Anne Vally, this hat is now available as an individual pattern.

Sized from newborn to adult, this hat features a charming and easy-to-knit colorwork pattern!
With 8 sizes from newborn to adult large, Flourish Tam is the perfect colorwork tam (beret) for everyone in the family. The tam is the third pattern in Little Skein’s Beatrix Box series, and it brings to life Beatrix Potter’s beloved Hill Top farm.

  • It’s worked from the bottom up and in the round, starting with 1x1 ribbing.

  • The body of the tam is worked in a colorwork pattern with only one color worked at a time. This gives the appearance of stranded colorwork but without the difficulty of tensioning two yarns at the same time.

  • You have the option of making the tam in two or three colors, depending on your available yarn and preferences.

  • The crown decreases are worked in tidy wedges for a lovely, classic look.
